NABS is funded completely by donation from individuals and corporations related to the advertising industry. NABS receives no government funding, and survives on the charity of its contributors Click Here to learn more about donating to NABS WEST.

 

How Can You Help?

We know that many claims are made on your charitable contributions. However, NABS is the only charity dedicated to helping those in the advertising/communications industry. Without NABS, we would not have been able to:

  • Give short-term financial assistance to thousands of your peers. The average period of assistance is three months, with an average payout of just over $2,000
  • Build a specially equipped washroom for the disabled children of a colleague working in our industry
  • Counsel hundreds of people at the end of their rope
  • Help recently-widowed colleagues deal with depression, financial need and career counseling
  • Save lives - several people that we have helped tell us NABS literally saved their lives

We do important work, but the demand is growing and our events can only generate so much. What can you do? Here's a list:

    United Way
  • Divert some of your United Way contributions to NABS this year. We recommend at least 25%. Just write NABS in the appropriate place and quote our charitable number: #11905 1357 RR
  • Many people send us post-dated cheques to spread their contributions out over the year.
  • Make NABS the charity of choice for your company event. We can suggest many fund-raising ideas for such an event.
  • Add a "NABS TAX" onto the price of your event ticket.
  • Definitely buy a ticket for each and every event.

How does NABS reinvest the funds?

NABS is a nationally registered charity and complies by the laws of The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), according to the NABS mandate specified in the by-laws. A Registered Charity Information Return is filed annually to CRA in Ottawa. The return is available to be viewed on the CRA website at - http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/search/menu-e.html
