New program in 2007
NABS will launch a number of new national and regional initiatives in 2007. The focal point is the expansion of our ‘Leadership Outreach Campaign’ launched in 2006. Through a peer-to-peer networking campaign the goal is to remind, educate and inspire a larger number of senior executives to raise awareness and profile for NABS as a preferred industry ‘Charity of Choice’ across all industry sectors.
The expansion of our ‘Ambassadors Network’ continues in Ontario and Quebec. This program mirrors a similar ‘Captains Network’ in B.C. and Alberta which targets younger professionals in the 25-35-age bracket, and reposition NABS services as a ‘Career Resource’, which can be accessed on a year-round basis confidentially and free-of-charge. The Network will recruit individual volunteer ‘Ambassadors’ to act as a NABS contact within their organizations and to assist with the promotion and distribution of collateral materials to their co-workers.
Other programs that will be promoted during 2007 include:
- Links for Women golf schools in conjunction with Score Golf – NABS exclusive one-day golf schools for women in the communications industry expands to four locations with one day events in Vancouver (May 1), Edmonton (May 30), Montreal (June – tbc) and Toronto (July 19)
- The second stage of an online job board on NABS Canada’s home web-site www.nabs.org allows job-seekers to post resumes for free at any time. Employers can post jobs for a nominal fee to reach job seekers across Canada in all industry sectors
- Expansion of Western initiatives through our NABS WEST region which has chapters in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary – www.nabswest.org
- The continued expansion of NABS Canada’s Quebec chapter – ‘BEC’ - Bénévolat d'Entraide aux Communicateurs, which allows NABS to offer services in French and English – www.bec-nabs.org
- Promotion of key NABS programs through the ‘Zoom Agency Network’ – a series of washroom poster boards in most major agencies across Canada. Zoom Media has made financial contributions from advertising sales in the network totaling more than $350,000 over the past seven years.
